Course details

This course covers contemporary areas of Computer Networking and Web Design/Development. Networking trains the student in all aspects of networks from cabling through to installing and configuring network operating systems.

Web Design gives students the skills necessary to create web sites, ranging from multimedia intensive brochure sites to complete e-Commerce solutions. Students will learn to repair and upgrade PCs.

Entry Requirements

  • On successful conclusion of FETAC Level 5 or equivalent

Progression

  • On successful completion students may, subject to the criteria of the link, progress to the second year of the Bachelor of Science in Computing in the Cork Institute of Technology.

  • Students can be admitted on a competitive basis to UCC for entry to the following degree programme:
  • CK401 BSC Computer Science
  • Students may apply to a range of Higher Education Institutions through the Higher Education Links Schemes.
