The .NET environment covers a wide range of languages, each with different advantages. This module is aimed at students who have not yet chosen a language and want to try out the different offerings available in the .NET platform. This course is aimed at students who have not had any previous programming experience.
Programme Aims and Objectives
This course aims at providing the learner with the knowledge to:
- Select a programming language that is most appropriate for a task
- Download and install the Visual Studio development environment
- Create and compile programs using a wide range of Microsoft languages

This course is focused upon the basics of software development, specifically using Microsoft programming languages.

- Variations of programming languages and their differences
- Getting stared with Visual Studio
- Basic data structures
- Interacting with native storage
- Compiling and distributing software on Microsoft platforms
