Negotiation is something that we do all the time and is not only used for business purposes but in our social lives. Negotiation is usually considered as a compromise to settle an argument or issue to benefit ourselves as much as possible. Negotiation, in a business context used many things like for selling, purchasing, staff (e.g. contracts), borrowing (e.g. loans) and transactions, along with anything else that you feel are applicable for your business. Thiscourse is tailored to address specific issues of negotiation.
Learning Outcomes
Upon the completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Explain the importance of preparing for the negotiation process, regardless of the circumstances
- Recognise the needs and interests of all parties
- Identify the various negotiation tactics & styles and their advantages and disadvantages
- Assess how often we all negotiate and the benefits of good negotiation skills
- Formulate the strategies for dealing with tough or unfair tactics
- Identify the skill in developing alternatives and recognising options
- Explain basic negotiation principles, including BATNA, WATNA, and the ZOPA
- Select wise agreements as a result of creativity.
