Course details

The NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management is a new qualification, successfully piloted with over 200 candidates in the UK and overseas, which is now being launched as part of the NEBOSH qualification portfolio. The course has two units, each of which is assessed separately; Unit NEC1 (Management and control of environmental hazards) consists of nine syllabus elements assessed by one written examination. Unit NEC2 (Environmental practical application) has no additional syllabus content but is designed to test application of the knowledge and understanding acquired from the NEC1 syllabus, through a workplace-based practical assessment.

Course Objective:

The qualification focuses on assessing environmental management systems with reference to UK legislation and is intended to provide a sound basis for progression onto the NEBOSH National Diploma in Environmental Management (Level 6). The qualification will benefit companies in all industry sectors who are seeking to implement effective environmental management systems and to provide line managers with a sound understanding of the principles of managing environmental risk.

Target Audience:

The National Environmental Certificate is designed for managers, supervisors and Employee.

  • Unit 9: Control of environmental noise
  • Unit 10: Planning for and dealing with environmental emergencies
