Course details
This globally recognised version of the NEBOSH International General Certificate is suited for health and safety professionals situated outside the United Kingdom. It does not deal with the UK aspects of Health and Safety law. The NEBOSH IGC qualification is widely taken as a first step towards a career in health and safety and is accepted by IOSH - the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health - in meeting the academic requirements for Technician Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH). The qualification is also accepted by the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) for associate membership. Delegates that successfully complete IGC can go on to study the NEBOSH National Diploma.

Unit IGC2 - Control of International Workplace Hazards
- Element 1: Workplace hazards and risk control

- Element 5: Electrical safety
- Element 6: Fire safety
- Element 7: Chemical and biological health hazards and risk control

Unit IGC3 - International health and safety practical application
- Unit IGC3 is assessed by one two-hour practical examination. This is held on a date set by Lionize Consulting and must be taken within 14 days of a written examination. The practical examination is internally assessed by Lionize Consulting and externally moderated by NEBOSH.
Assessment
- Candidates are assessed with written examinations for each of the two taught units. A unit certificate is issued denoting successful achievement of each unit. A Certificate award parchment is issued on completion of the two units and the practical assessment.
- The practical assessment is assessed by Lionize Consulting however the student should make necessary arrangements to do the practical's at their workplace or another suitable environment.

The NEBOSH International General Certificate focuses on international standards and management systems, enabling candidates to effectively discharge workplace health and safety responsibilities in any employment sector, in all parts of the world.
