We have experienced and qualified approved trainers to give the training of NEBOSH IGC.The NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is a globally recognized health and safety qualification from an established independent examination board with over 30 years experience in providing up to date and relevant examinations.
What does the qualification cover?
The NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) covers the principles relating to health and safety, such as the identification and control of workplace hazards and the practical application of this ; The NEBOSH IGC syllabus takes a risk management approach based on best practice and international standards, such as the International Labor Organisation (ILO) codes of ; Local laws and cultural factors may form part of the study programme where relevant and appropriate.
The qualification also features a practical workplace assessment.
While the International General Certificate is divided into three units, each of which is assessed separately:
Management of international health and safety (IGC1)
Control of international workplace hazards (GC2)
International health and safety practical application (GC3)
How to assess this course?
While the units IGC1 and IGC2, one two-hour written examination assesses each units. So each written examination consists of ten ‘short-answer’ questions and one ‘long-answer’ question. However all questions are compulsory and external examiners appointed by NEBOSH marks the scripts of candidate.
While in unit IGC3, one two-hour practical examination carries out in the candidate’s own workplace to assess IGC3. So the assessment normally took within 10 days of a written examination. The NEBOSH internally assesses the course provider and externally moderate the practical examination and the course includes a requirement to write a short report. Updated on 17 February, 2026
