Entry Require­ments:

Appli­ca­tions are invited from those who have com­pleted Leav­ing Cer­tifi­cate with a sci­ence sub­ject. Mature stu­dents and recent school leavers are also wel­come to apply. All appli­cants require Hepati­tis B Vac­ci­na­tion and Garda Vet­ting before course com­mence­ment. As the vac­ci­na­tion process takes approx­i­mately4 months stu­dents should bear this in mind when prepar­ing for work place­ment start­ing in September.

Pro­gres­sion and Career Options:

After pass­ing the NEBDN Diploma for Den­tal Nurses a stu­dent will be eli­gi­ble to apply for entry to the Reg­is­ter for Den­tal Nurses. The QQI award also being offered as part of this course allows stu­dents apply for a range of related Degree courses in Insti­tutes of Tech­nol­ogy and Uni­ver­si­ties nationally.

Grad­u­ates from this course have found employ­ment as Den­tal nurses in Gen­eral Den­tal Prac­tices, Com­mu­nity Den­tal Clin­ics and in Den­tal hos­pi­tals. Suc­cess­ful stu­dents can progress to careers in Oral Health Edu­ca­tion, Spe­cial Needs Den­tal Nurs­ing and Den­tal Hygiene.
