    Course details

    Specialise in the rapidly expanding nail technician industry by gaining all of the skills necessary to work in a nail bar, beauty salon or alternatively as a self-employed person. Students will also gain skills in other aspects of the beauty industry, such as skin and eye treatments, so that this broad skills base will make you an attractive prospect for employers. The QQI/ITEC course also includes customer service and other business skills so that graduates are fully prepared for the world of work. If these are your talents, then this is the course for you.

    Entry Requirements:

    Leaving Certificate or equivalent. For mature applicants, experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications. All applicants will need to demonstrate an interest in Nails at interview and must bring with them a portfolio of some nail work completed by them as evidence of their interest. This should include at least 5 photographs of nails painted by the interviewee.

    Certification:

    • ITEC Level 2 Beauty Specialist Certificate
    • ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology
    • QQI Level 5 Component Certificate

    • Spray Tanning, Nail Art, Gel Polish will be offered as options during the academic year.

    We_They first opened its doors to the public in 1908. From our earliest incarnation the College recognised the importance of coordinating commercial education with the business life of the city, so that, as our first Principal D.A.     The College remains the largest College of Further Education in the State with approaching two thousand full-time day students attending the College last year. There were also over two and a half thousand students who attended evening courses in the college, on a part-time basis, in the past academic year.
