Type of activity: These grades are designed as an intensive, academic programme for children usually aged between 14 and 18 who are serious about music and are already playing an instrument. Students are required to take the relevant ABRSM exam at the end of each grade, with certificates issued by ABRSM accordingly. Some courses are taken over a two year period depending on the background of the student. This course runs for the full academic year with students studying theory, aural, music history and analysis.
