Course details

Programme Structure
There will be 8 modules totalling 180 credits.

Each 15-credit module is delivered as a single intensive teaching block which comprises
i) 20 hours of lecture on
a) Wednesday and Thursday, 6pm to 9pm
b) Friday and Saturday, 9am to 5pm
ii) 2 hours of tutorial via video conference

The 30-creditdesign module is delivered in two intensive teaching blocks which comprises
i) 24 hours of lecture on
a) Wednesday and Thursday, 6pm to 9.30pm
b) Friday and Saturday, 9am to 6.30pm
ii) 2 hours of tutorial via video conference

In addition to the above intensive study periods, participants are expected to do pre and post self study and assignments.


Dissertation
Introductory briefing sessions will be held at BCA Academy
Participants will be supervised by the faculty through email/video conferencing as appropriate
The dissertation will be approximately 20,000 words

Award
Participants who satisfy the graduation requirements will be awarded the degree of Master of Science in Sustainable Building Design. Such award, including transcripts, will be the same as those conferred for studies on campus at the University of Nottingham.
Green Mark Professional
Graduates awarded with the MSc in Sustainable Building Design are considered to have fulfilled the 'Certification Course for Green Mark Professional (GMP)' requirement for Certified GMP.Criteria
The applicant must have a recognised degree in a subject related to the built environment. All applications are subjected to approval by the University of Nottingham.

Registration
To apply, please fill up the application form and hand in the completed application form in person to BCA Academy with the following supporting documents:
- academic qualifications and transcripts^;
- coloured photo;
- curriculum vitae
- Two reference letters
^ Please bring along the original copies for verification.Note: Key Conditions Tied to WDA Scholarship/BCA Funding

a) Candidate can be either company-sponsored or self-sponsored;
b) Candidate should be working in the built environment industry;
c) Candidate must achieve at least 75% class attendance for each module; and successfully attatin the MSc degree;
d) Candidate must serve a Minimum Service Period (MSP) of 2 years in the built environment industry after the successful completion of the MSc programme;
e) Candidate must participate in all surveys during the study of the MSc Programme and MSP.

Note: In the event that WDA Scholarship / BCA Funding recipients change employer during the course of study, they are required to notify BCA Academy. For company-sponsored WDA Scholarship / BCA Funding recipients, they must obtain the new employer's sponsorship for the respective funding awarded.

Candidates who are keen to apply for the scholarship and sponsorship must submit the following documents to BCA Academy:
i. Application Form for MSc(SBD) Course Fee Scholarship and Sponsorship;
ii. Certification Letter from company stating candidate's designation and date joining the company; and
iii. Curriculm Vitae (CV).
