    This postgraduate programme provides an opportunity for students to add to the broad educational and work expertise they already possess by gaining information technology and business skills equipping them for the workplace in either the public or private sector. These programmes are run subject to demand and are delivered through the medium of Irish.

    Aims and Objectives:

    This programme is recognised by the HEA under the Graduate Skills Conversion Programme.The approval underpins the relevance of third-level education in Irish as an integral part of economic development.

    Programme Structure

    The programme can be taken on either a full-time or a part-time basis. Students studying full-time will normally complete the programme in one academic year (two semesters). Part-time students will normally complete the programme in two years over 10-12 weekends on campus.

    There are two main streams in the course: business and informaton technology. A theoretical foundation complements practical experience in management, marketing, information technology, multimedia and communications skills that are necessary for business. The full-time programme is offered subject to demand.

    Career Prospects

    There is a high demand for graduates of this programme. Graduates have obtained managerial positions in a myriad of public and private sector enterprises, e.g. Gael-Linn, Conradh na Gaeilge, l'Oreal and Google. Other graduates of this programme are working in the educational sector as teachers and principals.

    Entry Requirements

    Honours degree H2.2 or equivalent professional experience and a satisfactory level of fluency in Irish. In some circumstances appropriate professional experience and qualifications are accepted in lieu of a primary degree, subject to University regulations. Previous qualifications in business or computing are not required.
