Course details
This module aims to provide trainees with the knowledge and skills of shop-floor tracking and control through an understanding of business performance indicators, the knowledge to identify and select suitable operational KPIs to support business performance indicators in a holistic manner, the ability to model a manufacturing shop-floor environment and conduct tracking and monitoring, the ability to determine the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and the ability to control shop-floor operations. Trainees will use an MES during hands-on assignment sessions where they have to model a shop-floor environment and use the tracking features of an MES to perform production status and operator tracking. Case studies of industrial applications of MES will be used to help trainees understand the use of MES in a wider range of industries.
