This course covers working with the navigation framework for Windows Store apps using Visual Studio 2013 and HTML5. This includes common navigation patterns and implementing the app bar. The course also demonstrates how to pick contacts in an app using a contact picker object. The course shows how to configure start screen tiles, secondary tiles, and tile notifications. The configuration of notifications through badges and toasts is also illustrated. This course is a part of the preparation materials intended to prepare an individual for Exam 70-481: Essentials of Developing Windows Store Apps Using HTML 5 and JavaScript. This exam is a requirement for the Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD): Windows Store Apps certification.
