Course details

This course explores the modern database systems while getting familiarized with utilities used to explore and explain data sets. In this course, learners will also acquire the essential skills needed to use a database, including entering data into forms and tables, running queries to search data, and producing meaningful reports.

At the end of the course, participants would learn/use/acquire the following techniques/knowledge:

• An overview of databases, database objects and terminology
• Planning a database structure and tables
• Describe the Relational Database Design Process
• Understand concepts of Data Normalization
• Determine Table Relationships and Designate Primary / Foreign Keys
• Explore Types of queries - Select, Make Table, Append, Delete, Update
• Developing Forms using Wizard and Layout views
• Using Design and Layout views to create simple reports
• Developing Simple Macros using Macro Builder and Code Builder
