Course details
- Understand the various elements of weather, e.g. water vapor, temperature, pressure, hygroscopic nuclei etc;
- Know how to use meteorological instruments onboard the ship e.g. barometer, barograph, hygrometer, anemometer etc;
- Understand the formation of various types of clouds, precipitation
- Understand the general pressure and wind system including trade wind and monsoon;
- Understand of ocean currents and formation of depression as well as fog;
- Understand warm front, cold front and the weather associated tothem; \
- Learn how to make a weather observation report.
