As an advanced management degree, the Milpark MBA is compatible with many other areas for further study. The MBA equips you with an holistic perspective of the business world. Not only does the MBA expose students to all core areas of business, but it also contributes significantly to their personal development. You will learn to be a team player and you will meet and network with many other individuals from different business contexts.

Having an MBA sends the right signal to potential employers - they will accept that you are serious about becoming a manager and a leader. MBA graduates are likely to hold higher management positions in organisations than those without an MBA. Therefore, people with higher level management and leadership aspirations will achieve this goal much sooner. A person with an MBA earns a significantly higher salary than a person with any other Masters degree.

The Milpark MBA

A key objective of Milpark's Business School is to enhance the potential of present and future business leaders in southern Africa by enabling them to compete successfully in the global marketplace. To address this goal, Milpark offers a multi-disciplinary MBA programme with a strong practical orientation.

Milpark's MBA curriculum is responsive to business needs and aims. A purposefully selected blend of modules ensures the development of managers skilled in the areas of social responsibility, the environment and corporate citizenship. At its core the programme remains focused on the key management areas while paying attention to the critical skills that prepare our students to be outstanding performers in the business environment.

The ideal MBA graduate is a well-educated and well-rounded individual able to tackle the myriad of problems facing managers in business. S/he is respected by the community, cares about the environment, understands global issues and conducts business in a responsible way.

The Milpark MBA options

Milpark offers the MBA on two different levels. Both degrees expose students to the same subject areas. The decision of which MBA you will register for will depend on your current qualification(s) and experience.

The MBA Level 8

Prospective students who only have an accredited Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least 3 years work experience can apply for the MBA at Level 8. This option will be available for a limited time only as it will be phased out in the near future. Thereafter students who wish to obtain an MBA will first have to complete an Honours degree or a Postgraduate Diploma.

The MBA at Level 9

Prospective students who have an accredited 4-year Bachelor's degree (that exits at level 8), an Honours degree, a post-graduate diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years work experience can apply for the MBA at Level 9.

Further studies

Both degrees may allow admission to doctoral studies at South African higher education institutions and universities depending on the admission requirements of the particular institution.
