Learn the craft of effective storytelling from raw rushes to finished product in an offline editing environment. Experience how to set up your project and operate the avid software as well as undergo hands on exercise where you will get to cut part of a documentary from rough cut to fine cut that.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Learn technical skills for avid including: media management, titles and effects, picture cutting, keyboard shortcuts, importing media files, exporting your master cut.
- Practice the art of editing:
- Constructing a narrative for documentary.
- Creating tension and dynamics in your drama cut.
- Working with Music effectively.
- Creating smooth transitions between scenes.
- Create Titles, Graphics, Picture Grade and Sound mix to enhance your cut.
- Learn to manipulate your rushes in order to achieve the tone or mood you are seeking in each particular example.
