    What is this course about?

    Learners on the MBA will be guided through key subjects to equip them with skill development and career progression in the management and business of the arts. The course will enable and engage learners in attaining an advanced understanding of arts management from marketing, to human resources, to finance, to communication, to arts policy, philosophy and leadership. This new MBA course is designed for experienced professionals who seek to renew, relearn, re-encounter and re-evaluate the current cultural climate in all its facets. The course involves lectures, group projects, case studies practice based learning and a range of dynamic invited lectures. The course has been developed in the nationally recognised creative learning environment of the Wexford Campus of IT Carlow that includes Honours Degree courses in art and visual communications. The course will be available in the towns of Wexford and Carlow which boast the Wexford Opera House and Visual: The Centre for Contemporary Art, two of Ireland’s most advanced arts facilities.

    The specific professional skills associated with this programme will allow students to:

    • meet the challenges that contemporary Arts Managers face;
    • engage pro-actively in debates and projects relating to the profession;
    • demonstrate ability to retrieve and select information from a variety of sources;
    • analyse and interpret primary and secondary data;
    • plan and undertake research projects.

    What are the minimum entry requirements?

    Bachelor of Business Level 8 or equivalent. Other Level 8 graduates require a Higher Diploma in Business Level 8 or equivalent.

    All applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Lifelong Learning reserves the right to require applicants to attend for an interview to determine their suitability for the programme.

    Applicants applying for entry via routes other than those listed above will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Criteria to be considered will include academic qualifications, recognition of prior learning and/or the applicant’s performance in GMAT or equivalent.
