Course details
The LLM programme features eight courses of which two are prescribed, four are from their chosen specialization and two are free electives. Three specializations are available in the inaugural year- the LL.M in Commerical Law, LL.M in Dispute Resolution and LL.M in Islamic Law & Finance. On successful completion of the programme, students will be awarded with an LLM degree in the respective specialization and this will be reflected on their degree scrolls.
Participants must choose 4 courses from the relevant specialization menu in order to be awarded their degree specialization.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
In order to graduate, students are required to complete either (1) 6 prescribed courses + 2 electives, or (2) 6 prescribed courses + 15,000-18,000 word dissertation.
Each course comprises 30 class hours. In Terms 1 and 2, students will have 9 class hours per week (3 hours per course). In Term 3 (Intensive), students will have 12 class hours per week (6 hours per elective).
In addition, postgraduate students will have to attend at least 2 Leadership Development Series (LDS) workshops organized by the Postgraduate Professional Programmes Office (PGPP) as part of graduation requirements. The topics could range from career planning, resume writing and interviewing skills to employment negotiations and networking.

DISSERTATION
In Term 3, a student may choose to write a dissertation (15,000-18,000 words) in place of 2 electives. The dissertation is an excellent opportunity for a student to delve deeper into a specific area of interest and hone his or her research and writing skills.
