Are you interested in furthering your music business career or music industry career? This unique online post graduate degree gives current music industry personnel or recent graduates from music business courses the opportunity to acquire elite music industry knowledge and leadership skills to advance your music industry career. This masters degree focuses specifically on music business and is run by music business experts with many years of industry experience.

The Master of International Music Business course will enable you to exercise leadership in international music business with advanced knowledge, strategic creative entrepreneurial skills, research acumen, and engagement with contemporary issues in relation to the creation, production, distribution and consumption of music and music-related products.

Graduates will be equipped to manage complex music business issues during a period of the rapid change of economic, musical, cultural, social, legal, and technological factors within the music industry.

You will be able to assume professional leadership roles that encompass creative, entrepreneurial and managerial functions in small to large music business organisations in an international context, informed by comprehensive understanding of national and international best practice.

The Graduate Diploma enables entry by approved applicants with extensive relevant professional experience in a potential pathway to the masters level qualification in the discipline.

This course has been designed to cater for existing music industry employees to do full time study while maintaining their current industry based careers, or for recent graduates of music business/music industry courses to further their study in the field. Subjects are offered online and can be completed at your own pace, without having to attend timetabled classes on a weekly basis. The online nature of the course allows us to engage internationally based experts in various music business fields to teach and contribute to classes. In addition to the online lessons there are 2 residential sessions held each year which are held mostly over a weekend.

What employment opportunities will I have?

Graduates will have advanced business and management skills and knowledge that can be applied across the broad spectrum of Music Business activities. These range from venue and live performance management, to recording, and radio, television and Internet publishing and sales, for which possible careers include: Music and Entertainment Manager, Music Project Manager, Artist and Major Event Manager, Major Record Company Senior Administrator, Independent Record Company Manager, Music Publishing, or Music Organisation Manager. Graduates may also find employment in other business-related industries with promising career forecasts, such as advertising, marketing, multimedia specialisation and web development.
