Course details
Transporting dangerous goods by ship is a unique situation, due to the large quantities that are involved, the lengthy travel times, and other transportation factors (heat, humidity, exposure to water, severe movement, etc.). The International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Dangerous Goods Code specifies the requirements that must be followed.
CIFFA has somehow replaced classroom training with e-Learning.
It is estimated that persons without previous Maritime DG training may take 7 to 9 hours to complete the eLearning Program, while students with previous Maritime DG training may only need 3 to 5 hours. Of course, these are estimates only and individuals may take as much time or as little time as they need for comprehension of the topics.
CIFFA will issue successful participants a Training Certificate.
A current edition of the IMO DG Code is strongly recommended.
