The aim of the Graduate Diploma in Management is to provide you with the key forward planning and strategic skills that is necessary to be a competent manager. You will learn the thinking behind best management practice and will be able to identify the fundamental driving forces behind successful businesses and organisations.
Most importantly, you will learn the qualities required to be an effective leader of an organisation, which helps motivate staff and drive the organisation to meet its targets and objectives. The purpose of the Diploma is to take you to a higher understanding of management processes and procedures by linking Business, Management theory, financial management, HR, leadership & other key areas of management together.
The Graduate Diploma in Management is an internationally recognised higher level 6 UK qualification (which is broadly equivalent to level 8 in Ireland) and allows further progression to level 9. The qualification is awarded by ATHE - Awards for Training and Higher Education (UK) and is internationally recognised and regulated by Ofqual.
Course Aims
The aim of the Graduate Diploma in Management is to provide you with the key forward planning and strategic skills that is necessary to be a competent manager. You will learn the thinking behind best management practice and will be able to identify the fundamental driving forces behind successful businesses and organisations.
Clear guidelines are set out for effective management by helping participants develop their own management style, manage information and communication, plan and manage resources and recruitment as well as competently manage finances.
Assessment
There is no written exams for this course. The principle method of learning is through practical applied learning in the form of assignments, case studies, and research projects.
Successful students can progress to do a level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management with CMI and/or to a Master’s Degree from a range of recognised third level colleges.

Entry Requirements
Applicants should note that the following entrance qualifications are recommended for those wishing to undertake this programme:
- A First degree
- A Higher National Diploma in Business Studies.
Applicants over the age of 21 who do not hold one of the required entrance qualifications may register for the programme providing they have been in full-time employment for a minimum of three years, ideally from a business or supervisory or managerial position.
What is the progression options?
Progression: Successful graduates will hold the title Grad.Dip.Mgmt after their name. Graduates can pursue a Level 7 UK /level 9 Post Grad Qualification in Management with CMI or pursue an MBA or MBS in any leading university. The course offers a wide variety of management and business career options.
