This Management Certificate course is designed for persons soon to assume a management role or for individuals with no prior experience, who seek to acquire management skills. This action packed ten week Management programme deals with effective ways to manage people and provides solutions to people management issues.

Management is one of the most important skills you can acquire while working. Whether you work in the commercial, state or semi-state sector or voluntary sector, management is still required even at a junior level.

Course Aims

The Certificate in Management course sets out clear guidelines for effective management by helping you develop your own management style, manage information and communication, plan and manage resources and recruitment. The principles of time management and key management skills areas are explored.

The Certificate in Management course identifies the roles and responsibilities of management and provides a comprehensive framework for future development. Discussion sessions, case studies on management and class exercises make this a highly rewarding and practical course. Students are assessed by project and assignment. This is an excellent course for individuals seeking to work in management.

Upon successful completion of 2 assignments, students will receive a Certificate in Management from CMI and a FETAC level 6 award in Business Management.

Management Process

  • Investigate the internal environment of an organisation to include a SWOT analysis (Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities Threats)

HR Management

  • Analyse the impact of a range of external factors on anorganisation to include aPEST analysis (Political Economic Social Technological)
  • Examine the need to and various ways that organisations adapt to and manage change
  • Explore the role of management within an organisation to include planning, organising , motivating, monitoring, review and control
  • Examine the difference between management and leadership and the impact of different management and leadership styles on group and individuals performance within an organisation
  • Compile a report on a management process to include a review and evaluation of the process
  • Design a procedure for a management process within an organisation
  • Design an appropriate workflow system for a business related task to include documentation of the process, identification of responsibilities and expected outputs
  • Appraise the role of human resources function and the human resource tools and techniques used to recruit, select and appraise employees and resolve conflict within an organisation

11 Evaluate the performance of an individuals or group within an organisation to include objectives and performance indicators.

12Evaluate a range of business management techniques and tools forplanning, management control and measuring performance within a business organisation to includebudgetary and none budgetary forms of control and performance indicators

Eligibility

This course is open to people from any educational background and with various levels of work experience. Due to the broad nature of the programme the course is not limited to an applicant from one industry background. What is the progression options?

Progression: Successful graduates will be eligible to pursue a Diploma in Management or Business, a Level 7 Degree or level 8 Post Graduate Qualification in Management or Business. The course offers a wide variety of management and business career options.
