Managing the Human Resource
Understand how HRM contributes to an organisation, and learn how the many different approaches to people management impact performance. You'll develop an awareness of how the HR function contributes to an effective workplace, and how to implement motivation, development, and rewards into a strategy.
HRM in Context
Gain an appreciation of your organisation, and an understanding of the different ethical and social challenges it faces. You'll take a look into market implications and gain the ability to analyse and evaluate how they impact an organisation and strategise people management from a professional perspective.
Reward Management
Recognition for a job well done is a central motivation of individuals, whether financial or otherwise. You'll consider government policies, equality, business direction and external factors, and by taking into account a range of economic theories, be able to identify effective reward strategies that support and encourage motivation.
Learning and Development
This module looks at the process of creating a learning and development strategy, and how this is driven by business strategy. You will consider methods of identifying and developing talent in line with an organisation's needs, and learn to advise them on different learning styles and approaches.
Resourcing and Talent Planning
Learn the most effective methods of HR planning with this module. Consider supply and demand forecasting, the strengths and weaknesses of each approach, and discuss the strategic need for HR to take a proactive role. Explore job analysis, recruitment, and performance management, and understand the technological issues faced by Human Resources teams today. Alongside this, you'll learn the parameters set by employment law, and view this all within the challenging context of an international workplace.
Employee Relations
You'll define and understand industrial relations in the modern era with this module, and learn its role in a contemporary framework ensuring a workable relationship between employees, management, and other key stakeholders. Consider the role of partnership agreements, collaborative approaches, and both hard and soft approaches to HRM.
Research Project
This vital project gives you a chance to research an area of your choice, related to the programme theme, and develop your critical abilities. You'll create a research proposal and choose between a conventional dissertation, or an academic article and presentation.
