This course is aimed at learners who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills in the tourism & event management industry. Learners may wish to further their education into areas of hospitality or events management, which offer excellent career opportunities both in Ireland and internationally.
Entry Requirements
Applicants for this Advanced Certificate course must have already successfully obtained a QQI Level 5 Certificate in Tourism with Business or equivalent. Entry may be subject to interview.

Course Structure
You will complete various practical and theory modules that will advance your knowledge of this unique area. In addition, you will gain hands on experience through Galileo, a computerised (GDS) reservation system used in travel agencies and airports. Field trips/visits may also be scheduled as part of the programme.
Career Options | Progression
You will have excellent career prospects for employment at a supervisory level in travel agencies, hotels, airlines, customer service departments and tour operators. Holders of an Advanced Certificate in Tourism with Business may also progress to further studies at Institutes Technology/Universities. Advanced entry links (2nd year entry) have been developed with DkIT to the Bachelor of Business in Event Management.
