This course is divided into 3 main chapters to enable the students to get all the required information step by step, with a very well-organized sequence of lectures to take students from the fundamental approaches and theories up to reaching calculating real examples manually and using SAFE program.

Chapter 1- Explains the behavior of concrete under creep and shrinkage strains, their effect on columns and flexure members and the factors affecting each type of them.

Chapter 2- Covers the ACI-318 code requirements and recommendations regarding calculating long term deflection, its limitations and illustrates each equations and term in code and link it with what was given in chapter 1.

Chapter 3- Compiles chapter 1 & 2 in a practical manner, by solving manual example and resolving it again using CSI SAFE and provide the student with the tips and tricks required to model and analyze a real project example and show you how long-term deflection is calculated in the daily work basis in consulting offices based on my expertise as a deputy manager of structural engineering department for one of the top international ranked consulting firms.
