    Course details

The LL.M. programme aims to develop learner’s academic capabilities to their fullest, to enhance their communication skills and capacities to develop their research skills. Graduating with the LL.M. degree will set graduates apart from those with a basic undergraduate degree for career progression purposes and, should graduates wish to pursue further academic studies, it will prepare them to potentially undertake Ph.D. studies.

The LL.M. Masters degree also lends itself to stimulating progressed career opportunities across a range of areas including academia, journalism, media, finance, public administration, industry and commerce.

The LL.M. Masters degree has been crafted and refined by the seasoned input of distinguished academics and professionals as well as the College’s expert full-time and associate lecturing staff. The Masters degree combines academic depth with the necessary research and writing skills to equip learners with a solid foundation for their future careers, be it in academia, industry or otherwise.

The full-time Masters programme consists of up to 11 lecture hours per week from the end of September to December and again from the end of January to April. This Programme has suited many learners who work during the day as all of the lectures take place in the evening time. Exams will take place in January and in May and a 20,000 word dissertation will be written up over the summer months with the guidance of an assigned supervisor. Extra time is allocated throughout term time to assignment work and to the vital independent research that deepens understanding, and provides learners with the time to critically and reflectively consider their own work. It is possible to do this programme over two years following discussion with the Programme Director on how this might best work for learners, depending on their circumstances.
