OVERVIEW
This is a Programme for Auctioneers and is designed to address the special needs of cooperative Mart s and Auctioneers in a rapidly changing Mart business environment.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
The key aim of the programme is to provide the bedrock of knowledge and skills needed by anybody aspiring to competent livestock auction practice or livestock mart management. It builds on this basic knowledge for future mart managers and directors by looking at a broader curriculum in the context of livestock operations and management.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The programme is aimed at aspiring auctioneers, animal health officers and Mart Managers and Suitable candidates from other related disciplines who wish to develop their skills in these sectors will also be considered.
LEARNING APPROACH
This programme is tutor lead with a number of group exercises and discussion workshops, supported by video tutorials.
Successful candidates will be awarded an endorsed award through the Institute of Leadership & Management.

- Industry - Introduction to the Irish Meat Industry and its position within the European and Global Meat Sectors
- Establishing the Principles of Good Auctioneering and developing a Code of Good Practice
- Valuation & Livestock Markets
- Critical Review of the English, Welsh & Scottish Experiments
