It is a comprehensive foundation course to the professional world of wine. It introduces the learner to a systematic way to taste, describe, evaluate and recommend wines in marketable ways. Participants will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) in WSQ Study and Serve Wine upon programme completion
The objectives of the programme are as follow:
- Describe basic factors affecting wine style, flavor, quality and price.
- Apply basic techniques to taste, examine and evaluate wines.
- List major grape varietals and their characteristics.
- Recommend wine in marketable ways.
- Identify major wine producing countries and regions.
- Pairing wine with food.
- Identify various considerations related to the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
- Present, open, decant and serve different types of wine.
