    This full-time PLC (Post Leaving Cert) will provide students with a wide range of personal, computer and study skills in an empowering and non pressurised environment. The focus of the course is on helping students to recognise their strengths and develop the necessary skills to successfully progress to the next stage in Ireland's framework of qualifications. It also provides a good knowledge of the modern workplace for a return to employment.

    • Work Experience

    • Information Technology Skills
    • Database Methods
    • Bookkeeping Manual and Computerised
    • Desktop Publishing

    Work Experience Placement is an integral part of this course. Students must obtain 10 days work experience for the academic year in a relevant business environment.

    Entry Requirements:

    • Successful performance at interview
    • Leaving Cert (traditional or applied)
    • Other qualification at NFQ Level 4 (e.g. FETAC Level 4 Award)
    • Mature students with appropriate vocational experiences

    Progression:

    This award facilitates entry on a competitive basis to a range of third level institutions nationwide leading to awards at the next or higher levels of the National Framework of Qualifications. Career prospects include: Customer Service, Administration, Sales Store Assistant, Data Entry, Call Centre.

    South Tipperary Vocational Education Committee (VEC) is one of 33 VEC’s established under the Vocational Education Act 1930 – 2001.Their remit as the state provider of education for the County is the provision of a comprehensive range of quality education programmes to meet the needs of the community they serve. 

    These include Second Level Education, Post Leaving Certificate Programmes, Further Education, Second Chance, Adult & Community Education.
