Course details

City & Guilds has over 120 years of experience in identifying training needs, developing assessment materials, carrying out assessments and training assessment staff.

The diploma allows your skills to develop through the use of a greater range of skills including silver service, counter service and carvery and buffet service. Additional generic units include customer care and product knowledge. Providing a broader range of skills the diploma is suitable for a person operating as a front line worker with some supervisory responsibilities.

Entry Requirement: 

  • 16 years old and above
  • "N" Level or 10 years of formal education or equivalent qualifications"
  • Have achieved the equivalent of IELTS 5.5 or have taken the English Placement Test and scored within the required banding.

Assessment

Practical Competencies

Candidates are tested through ongoing practical skills assessments/ assignment.

  • It will be a progressive practical assessment test
  • Prepare Portfolio + Logbook for practical

Knowledge Requirements

A two hours multiple choice 50 questions test for each:

  • Food Safety in Catering
  • Food and Beverage Service Principles 2

Graduation

Course Completion and Award Criteria

  • Passed theory assessments and completed logbook & portfolio.
  • 90% class attendance for entire course (international students)
  • 75% class attendance for entire course (all other students not on ICA's student pass)

Students who fulfil the above criteria will be awarded the “Level 2 IVQ Diploma in Food and Beverage Services” by City and Guilds, United Kingdom
