Course details

This programme provides the necessary qualifications for a career in fitness and leisure industry with options to work as s Studio Instructor, Strength Conditioning Coach, Gym Instructor, Sports Retailer and Freelance Fitness Instructor.

Learners who successfully complete a QQI Level 5 Certificate may use their results to progress to related Level 7 and Level 8 Degree Programmes in Irish and British Universities and Institutes of Technology. Third level progression opportunities for QQI learners are continually being developed and enhanced.

Course Features

• Learners will combine theory and practical work throughout this course
• Guest speakers from the fitness and leisure industry
• Work experience in a variety of settings
• Football and rugby teams compete in inter-college leagues
• Additional classes are offered in lifeguard training and swimming instruction
• The Fitness Department works in partnership with DLR Leisure Services to provide a range of practical training opportunities for learners.

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent, or LCA, or relevant experience
