Course details
This course introduces the principles of lean tools and techniques to eliminate waste, manage inventory and improve product flow in a manufacturing organisation. Key concepts such as 6S, just-in-time (JIT), and process management prepare graduates to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
Objectives
Students should be able to:
- understand the principles of lean processes and how it can add value to the operation of an organisation.
- apply lean tools and techniques used by organisations in establishing efficient manufacturing processes leading to higher product quality and productivity.
