    Course details

The Institute of Public Administration is pleased to announce details of a special one-day workshop that will introduce you to the science and practice of adaptive resilience. ‘Adaptive Resilience’ draws upon the psychology and the physiology of stress and resilience and engages the role of positive emotions, the relationship between your conscious and subconscious mind, and the physiology of coherence (autonomic flexibility and balance).
Over this workshop, we will explore how to effectively handle issues regarding stress, health, relationships and performance. Introducing the ‘Adaptive Resilience Cycle’, we will present a number of exercises that will enhance your self-knowledge, your capacity to manage crisis and challenging situations and to develop your leadership skills.
The highly effective and practical techniques will help you to reduce the negative impact of stress and to develop resilience, your capacity to stay healthy, be well and perform at your best under pressure and in crisis.
The techniques introduced, are based on research in the fields of neuroscience (autonomic nervous system dynamic & activity of the brain), neurocardiology (heart rate variability training), mindfulness, cognitive behavioural therapy, as well as positive and motivational psychology.
The exercises deepen your capacity to stay calm, appreciative and confident in challenging situations, creating and maintaining physical and emotional balance, health, good judgement and decision making as well as sustainable performance in crisis and under pressure.
