Testimonials about the Leonard programme
"Overall I feel that my taking part in the exchange programme has helped me to gain a greater understanding of the German language and has given me the chance to experience the German culture as well. Personally it has affected me in a way that I would have more confidence to go back to Germany again for a longer stay and I am delighted that I did participate in the programme." (Joanne Byrne)
"It was really a trip and an experience that has opened the world to me. Although it was only for 3 weeks it has encouraged me to go on and be more adventurous and to see more of the world. I adapted very quickly to the new ways that were open to me and my ability to make new friends in a short space of time has encouraged me that it can be done easily. I am very happy that I did go and am extremely satisfied with the way I dealt with the challenges and I achieved my goals." (Pauric Flynn)
"The work placement in France was hard sometimes because I missed my family and friends, but it was worthwhile and very enjoyable. It was a great life experience." (Viktoriya Nedelcheva)
"It is not an easy experience but a rewarding one." (Aine O’Neil, mature student)
"I was really lucky to get the opportunity to go to France. I know I would not like to work in a sports shop but definitely seeing how the French work and live has made me think about working abroad again in the future, perhaps even a longer period like one or two years. I would regard the work experience as the most important part of the course and am very grateful to have been given the opportunity to do it. It has opened my eyes to many possibilities and it will definitely look good on my CV." (Robert Ryan)
