Course details

This is a half day course designed to equip learners with the necessary information & knowledge to carry out their duties while working on a ladder.

Course Objectives:

On completion of this course, learners will;

  • Understand the importance of safety while working at height
  • Be aware of the legislation surrounding working at height
  • Identify the three stages of working at height risk assessment
  • Be aware of the safe positioning, storage & usage of a ladder

Course Programme:

  • Health & Safety Legislation as it applies to the use of ladders/working at height
  • Duties of Employers & Employees as per the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005
  • Risk Assessment – Avoid, Prevent & Minimise
  • Accident reporting & prevention
  • Working at Heights Regulations 2006
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Pre-use inspection of ladders

Training Methods:

  • Classroom based power-point presentation with learners going through the work at height risk assessment process.
  • Who Should Attend?
  • Those staff who work at heights using ladders as part of their normal daily duties.

Additional Information:

  • Maximum of 12 learners
  • Certificate of Attendance will be issued to all learners who attend this course.
