Course details

This course provides an introduction to the open source Java web application framework Spring. This course is aimed at students with some programming experience with Java and want to further their knowledge with Spring.

Programme Aims and Objectives

This course aims at providing the learner with the knowledge to:

  • Set up a development environment for Spring
  • Design a Java application that uses the Spring Framework
  • Implement a practical solution to business problems using Spring
  • Utilise the Spring framework for authentication and securing an application.
  • Set up a web server to run java applications
  • Design and implement REST services and consumers
  • Utilise build automation tools for fast compiling and running of java applications
  • Designing user interfaces for spring applications

Programme Content

This course is focused upon the basics of using Spring during the application development process. An introduction to setting up a web server to run java applications is also included in this course. Topics covered by this course include:
