The ITIL Expert Certification is primarily focused at senior IT staff or staff moving to management positions in IT. The Intermediate - Expert level training deep dives in to how IT processes are defined, the roles within those processes, and how IT ensures that its activities are aligned with business objectives.

Selecting the right Track
The "ITIL Expert" is the capstone certification of a set of 4 or 5 intermediate certifications - depending on the path you choose. Each intermediate module delves deeper into specific aspects of ITIL. There are two Intermediate tracks you can choose to reach the Expert level.

1. Service Lifecycle Track (management focused - 5 modules)
2. Service Capability Track (process focused - 4 modules).

This training serves as a refresher for your Foundation knowledge, sets a solid foundation for both the Capability and Lifecycle tracks, goes beyond - to key Intermediate level concepts and will also help you choose the right path relevant to your career profile.

Build a SOLID Foundation
The ITIL Expert level is challenging. This modular certification structure builds on your Foundation level of knowledge and traverses deep into key areas of the ITIL Framework. This Pre-Course Preparatory module reinforces your Foundation level knowledge and also covers key areas of the ITIL Intermediate level which are referenced throughout the Intermediate and Expert level.

• are considering going for the ITIL Expert
• completed the ITIL Foundation a long time ago
• completed the Foundation through self-study
• suspect there may be some knowledge gaps
• forget some of the concepts or basic terminology
• are unsure which path to take to expert

Pre-requisites for ITIL Intermediate / Expert
For all the ITIL Advanced certifications (Practitioner / Intermediate / Expert) the ITIL Foundation Certificate is pre-requisite - which must be furnished as documentary evidence. It is recommended that candidates have at least 2 years experience in IT at the Intermediate level and around 5 years experence for the Expert level of ITIL.
