Course details

ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology aims to:
To provide skills at Level 3 in the National Qualification Framework for those interested in the Beauty Therapy industry.

To provide opportunities for staff in the Beauty Therapy industry to gain a Level 3 qualification.

To qualify candidates as Nail Technicians at Level 3 in the Beauty Therapy industry.

To sustain the interest of candidates waiting to work in the Beauty Therapy industry at Level 3.

To encourage knowledge and understanding for the Beauty Therapy industry at Level 3.

To provide opportunities for candidates to focus on the development of the major Key skills and the winder Key skills in a Beauty Therapy context such as communicating with clients, working with others and problem solving.

To provide opportunities for candidates to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in employment as a nail Technician.

RECOGNITION
Upon successful completion, graduates of this programme can be allocated to salons to work as Nail Technician.

COURSE STRUCTURE
The course consists of 3 units with a total of 160 contact hours. Courses are delivered face to face.

Assessment and Examination
In-House Examination

ITEC International Examination (must pass 3 Units for certification )

1. Unit 11 Manicure and Pedicure Practical, Theory, Evidence of 5 treatments

2. Unit 20 Nail Technology Practical, Theory, Evidence of 10 nail enhancement tretaments

3. Unit 22 Professional and Business Awareness Theory

75% attendance must be attained to sit for all examination

Entry Requirements
The minimum entry requirements are:
At least 16 years old and above
Secondary level or equivalent.
Proficiency in English or Chinese

Graduation Requirements
Candidates must achieve the following requirements in order to graduate from the course:

Must attend all lessons with minimum 90% attendance
Must complete all portfolio evidence on the date given before examination
Must score minimum of 60% in all theory and practical units

Students who successfully complete the examination will be awarded with the (ITEC) Level 3 Diploma by International Therapy Examination Council, UK.
