Course details

On this course the learner will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to prepare and apply makeup. You will learn how to apply Corrective, Day, Evening, Bridal and Special Occasion Make up. You will learn about hygiene & safety precautions and effects & benefits of make up application techniques. The course will also focus on communication and behaving in a professional manner while following a health & safety work practice. This Itec course for those working in salons, pharmacies or for those seeking a qualification to complement a beauty qualification.

You will learn how to prepare and apply Make up including:

• Using suitable consultation techniques through skin analysis and skin care
• Learn the skin types,conditions & characteristics
• Learn how to identify contraindications which prevent or restrict make up application
• Have the knowledge of the products, tools and equipment needed to carry out treatments
• Learn the structure and functions of the skin
• Understand and learn to identify the diseases and disorders of the skin
• Understand the aging process of the skin

Entry requirements

• Entry to this course is by direct application to the college. There are no previous academic requirements.
