ITE Skills Certificate in Logistics Operations (CLO)

The ITE Skills Certificate in Logistics Operation is a part-time programme for workers to upgrade their skills in the Logistics and Warehousing industries. It is of 6 months duration. Lessons will be conducted two evening per week from 7pm to 10pm at Singapore Institute of Materials Management (SIMM). Lessons are conducted in English.

CLO Program Coverage

The structure for the course comprises of 3 modules:

Inventory Control 

This module covers an overview of the importance of inventory control in warehousing and logistics management.

• Types of inventory
• EOQ theory and optimal inventory system
• Types of inventory systems
• Future trends in inventory control
• Kanban systems
• ABC analysis in inventory management
• Cycle counting procedures
• Importance of stocktaking
• Investigation of stock discrepancies
• Reconciliation of stock
• Identification of rejected damaged goods and obsolete goods
• Functions of computerised inventory control
• Cost implications of space consolidation in warehouse

Logistics Operations 

This module covers logistics concepts and function, packaging techniques, bar coding and labeling of goods, modes of transportation and types of documentation required.

Warehouse Operations 

This module covers the role and functions of a warehouse, stock taking methods of handling materials and the types of materials handling equipment.

Award of Certificate

• The ITE Skills Certificate in Logistics Operations (CLO) will be awarded by ITE to those who meet the following requirements:
• posses a passing mark of 50% based on aggregate score obtained from practical and written assessments with weighting of 70% and 30% respectively
• attend at least 75% of the course sessions

Entry Requirements

Applicants should be at least 18 years old, possess at least Secondary 2 qualifications and preferably have 1 year of relevant working experience.
