The Islamic mutual funds course provides an introductory comprehensive overview of one of the fast growing products in Islamic banking and finance: Islamic mutual funds. Aspects such as its key principles, structure, legal foundations, operations, and management, are the topics of discussions that will be covered in detail throughout the course.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Explain the history and background of conventional mutual funds and discuss its key features and types
- Adequately discuss the key principles of Islamic banking, referencing the sources of Islamic law, and then specifically relating it with Islamic mutual funds
- Review the history of Islamic banking and the essential elements of the current Islamic banking industry, relating it to the growth of the Islamic mutual funds industry
- Identify and analyse key features of Islamic mutual funds in comparison to their conventional equivalents
- Illustrate the structure of Islamic mutual funds and explain the rules and regulations pertaining to it
Target Audience
This course is for any inpidual who would like to gain a more in-depth understanding of Islamic mutual funds, including investment officers, fund managers, treasury officers or marketing officers who deal with Islamic mutual funds.
