Course details
The Masters in Applied Social Studies provides candidates with post- qualifying professional experience the option of progressing to higher degree level. It’s suitable for qualified and experience practitioners wishing to deepen their understanding of the theoretical underpinnings of the applied social sciences for their professional disciplines.
This masters provides graduates with advanced knowledge of the issues facing society today; a deepened understanding of rights, equality and inclusion and development issues, and of key professional dilemmas; and high level of competence in allied disciplines.
This is not a professional community work or youth work qualification. Prospective students wishing to pursue a professional qualification in youth work and community work should apply for the MACYW (MHB54 & 55).
Entry Requirements
- Participation is open to those who have a primary degree with an overall mark of at least 55%, a professional qualification in community work and/or youth work and substantial post qualifying experience, usually ten years.
- Equivalent professional qualifications or degrees incorporating professional qualifications and those qualified in allied disciplines may also be considered.
- Minimum English language requirements:
