Introduction
Industrial Design is a process of design applied to products. Its key feature is that design is separated from manufacture. From environmental objects to light fittings, industrial design equips the learner to design an object from concept stage to design development employing graphics and model making. The course places a strong emphasis on the design process and combines creative ability with technical skills.
Learners are equipped with the necessary technical and IT skills required to work at entry level in this field or progress onto further studies in the design field. This course is project based and the work produced on this course will be presented as a portfolio.

Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate/LCA
Applicants should have achieved five passes at ordinary level. LCA applicants should submit details of credits awarded.
Others including Mature Students
Applicants without the entry requirements are welcome and will be assessed individually.
Advisory Meeting
Applicants will have an advisory meeting to offer guidance and to ensure course suitability. Places will be offered, on a first come basis, following the outcome of the personal Advisory Meeting, subject to the applicant meeting the entry requirements of the course. Applicants will also be advised on course costs and registration details.
