Course details

This short course is designed to equip beginners with basic computer literacy skills and teach the skills needed to be comfortable using the Windows interface and its applications.

The programme is designed for learners who do not have any background knowledge or experience in computers.

Programme Outline

  • Identify components of a personal computer (PC)
  • Sign in to Windows and navigate the start screen
  • Basic mouse and keyboarding skills
  • Using Windows store apps and navigation features
  • Manage files and folders with File Explorer
  • Create and modify files with desktop applications
  • Typing, formatting and saving documents in WordPad
  • Use window controls and the taskbar to manage open windows
  • Using Internet Explorer and browsing the Web
  • Customising the Windows environment
