    Our Introduction to CLIL with Language Development Course is designed for teachers in secondary schools who wish to teach their own subjects through English. (Teachers of older primary school children may find this course useful, but it is written for secondary-level teachers). This course may also be suitable for teachers of English who wish to work with non-English-language teachers who need to teach through English.

    This course offers both a theoretical and practical introduction to teachers coming to CLIL for the first time and focuses on developing the language skills of teachers, by offering Language Development sessions to help them improve their own English.

    In addition to CLIL sessions and workshops, this course offers a set of Language-Development lessons designed especially for CLIL and CLIL-support teachers to improve their own language skills. The course also offers a cultural programmes of seminars and excursions to make the most of this trip to Ireland.

    Language Development Lessons

    On arrival in Dublin, each participant is assessed on their English-language skills. These assessments are then used by our language-development teachers to create a unique English-language programme for their group. Typically, these lessons cover topics such as Intonation and Stress Patterns in Spoken English, The Four Skills workshops (speaking, reading, writing and speaking), Grammar as Form and Function and Vocabulary Development.
