Intravenous study days on average last for Having the opportunity of completing a mandatory IV Medication theoretical component at a “time available for the RGN” whether it is at work with access to computer resources or in the comfort of their own homes, with follow up requiring a mandatory classroom attendance session - focusing on the practical elements - will support a much more conducive learning opportunity for RGN’s.

On successful completion of the classroom practical component of this program participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate competence in calculations associated with IV drug administration
  • Demonstrate the procedure involved in administering a bolus, intermittent and continuous drug intravenously
  • Demonstrate the procedure involved in completing the “IV competency record form”
