This course supplies a detailed and structured approach to counselling. Core counselling terminology and skills guide you through the fundamental steps of this complex field of learning. You'll be expected to engage in reflection and self-examination to develop your people skills, and monitor your own counselling behaviour. The course creates a framework for the counselling process. Knowledge of the terminology and concepts of counselling, establishing the counselling contract, conducting initial sessions, managing caseloads, counselling records, and supervision and evaluation strategies are covered. This course will help you to develop essential basic skills for further specialised training.
Entrance Requirement
Grade 10 (Std. 8) or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
