Course Content
This is an intensive computer course which is designed to equip students with a wide range of Computer Application Skills. The course will build confidence and those who complete it will have gained improved and interpersonal skills. Graduates of this course will be ideally suited to work in banks, building societies, insurance companies and other service institutions. Students are required to pass eight Modules in order to obtain a FETAC Award Level 5.
Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate or Leaving Certificate Applied qualifications. The Leaving Certificate is not a requirement for mature students who wish to return to full-time education.
Careers or Further Progression
Graduates may use their qualification to apply for a place in any of the Higher Education Institutes through the Higher Education Links Scheme.

Abbey Community College opened in September 2002 following the amalgamation of Scoil Chríost an Rí, St. Mary’s College and Boyle Vocational School. Abbey Community College aims, with the resTheirces available, to provide the best possible environment in order to cater for the cultural, educational, moral, physical, religious, social, linguistic and spiritual values and traditions of all students. They show special concerns for the disadvantaged and They make every effort to ensure that the uniqueness and dignity of each person is respected and responded to, especially through the pastoral care system in the school. They realise too, that They must cater for the changing needs of today’s world and towards that end, They frequently review Their various programmes. Being keenly aware of the ever-increasing effect of outside influences on the lives of Their students, They are even more concerned to maintain positive values and practices.
Working together as a school community, the Board of Management, parents, staff, and students, aim to provide an environment which will allow each student to develop intellectually, physically, morally, socially, and spiritually so as they will be able to fulfil their role in society.
