IFRS vs. ASPE 101

Course details

GAAP in Canada means one of two financial reporting frameworks are followed: IFRS or ASPE. The purpose of this course is to introduce the two financial reporting frameworks and provide a high level overview of their differences under the main section of the CICA handbook. Examples of differences that exist between the two frameworks is provided throughout the course. In addition, the history of IFRS and ASPE in Canada is discussed to provide some background on why they were formed and the benefit of using one over the other. 

This course has an intended audience of CPA's but is also open to accounting students.
